PHILOSOPHY OF PRACTICE
Within each of us there is a basic urge towards healing and growth. If we merely suppress symptoms without addressing the causes of disease, we may drive illness deeper and develop more serious chronic conditions.
If, instead, we can supply optimal nutrition, normalize physiological function, remove interfering toxicity and infection, and engage the creative force of mind and spirit, we can go beyond mere absence of disease to a higher level of health and well-being. We can live longer and better, and manifest our full potential for this life.
• All clients are encouraged to:
• Take responsibility for their own life and health within a supportive healing partnership.
• Benefit from research in wellness promotion and life-extension.
• Combine standard medical diagnosis and treatment with diet, nutrition, and detoxification.
• Strengthen their immune system and nutritional status in order to be better able to fight infection and other health challenges. .
• Decrease the risk of chronic degenerative diseases, and help promote healing of existing acute and chronic conditions.
Biography
Susan is experienced in many areas of mainstream and holistic health care including medical research, hospital nursing, hospice care, health clinics, and outpatient medical practice.
She holds Masters Degrees in Biology (endocrinology), Psychology, and Nursing, Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and has had extensive study in Naturopathy (natural healing).
Susan initially worked as a medical researcher and psychotherapist in New York State, then moved to Virginia and became a registered nurse.
Since experiencing a personal healing of chronic illness in 1987 through alternative approaches, she has been intensively studying all levels of holistic healing.
In 1995 she became nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with authority to diagnose and treat patients, and to write prescriptions.
In 1997 Susan acquired a Doctor of Naturopathy degree from Trinity School of Natural Healing, learning use of nutrition, herbs, and naturopathic assessment.
Since 1999 she has been using muscle reactivity testing (Contact Reflex Analysis) to screen for metabolic and organ dysfunction, allergies, and many other conditions that are difficult to diagnose by conventional methods.
To help incorporate emotional and spiritual levels of healing, she became a certified Hypnotherapist in 1998, and is now using the Emotional Freedom Techniques, guided imagery, and other approaches to help clients reprogram old negative patterns.
According to Susan: “My lifelong goal has been to investigate healing on all levels; to achieve it for myself, and to help others to benefit from my experience.”
